Disposable Incontinence Products - Convenient Protection and Odor Control

If you suffer from incontinence then you already know how important it is to manage the condition in order to continue to live the active lifestyle you enjoy. You probably also know that there are a number of items available to help you with this task including disposable incontinence products.

Disposable products certainly have their place. While many people find incontinence pants to be more comfortable than disposable pads, pads offer the benefit of frequent and fast clean up. With disposable incontinence products you can quickly change out a soiled pad for a clean one which keeps you drier and also lessens the chance of any embarrassing odor.

And let's face it, odor can be a problem. Nobody wants that embarrassing smell lingering on their clothing. Some incontinence pants come with limited odor control but disposable incontinence products get rid of the odor by simply disposing the source of the smell.

There are some things you can do to lessen the aroma coming from your urine. The old saying "you are what you eat" applies here. Certain foods and drinks can pass on their distinctive smell to your urine. Caffeine, garlic, onions, asparagus and tuna fish are the principal culprits. Avoid them and you will avoid their scent.

People with incontinence often try to limit their fluid intake thinking that will lessen the number of times that they will have to use the bathroom. If you do not fully hydrate, your urine will become concentrated and the odor will be stronger when you do go. Just like the foods that pass on their scent, there are other foods that cut the smell like cranberry juice and most citrus juices. Drink enough fluids to ensure that your body is fully hydrated.

While you want to use what you are most comfortable with, consider disposable incontinence products as a means to keep dry and odor free with a minimum of hassle and expense.
